Wedadu Sayibu is a community development practitioner and gender advocate. She is the Programme Manager for RAINS, a local NGO based in northern Ghana, and has over 15 years of experience in development work. In her role at RAINS, she is responsible for leading programme design and implementation including volunteer management. Over the past five years, she has led the design, implementation and management of various volunteer projects that have directly engaged over 200 volunteers (both local and foreign). These projects have benefited over 5,000 men and women across 50 communities.
Wedadu is responsible for the direct supervision of all volunteers at RAINS. As a past volunteer herself, Wedadu believes that volunteering is an integral part of development. She believes in North-South partnership and in complementary volunteer programming.
She holds a Masters Degree in Development Studies with a focus on Human Rights, Gender, Conflict Studies, and Social Justice issues.
