Julian Olivier is the incoming Chief Executive of Raleigh International. He took over as Deputy Chief Executive in January 2019, providing leadership and change management responsibilities to deliver the organisational strategy and business plan.
He has previously worked as Director of Programmes (2016-2019) and Country Director for Nicaragua and Costa Rica, (2005-2014). Julian has extensive experience in building long-term partnerships with civil society organisations, the private sector and government that maximises the effective engagement of young people in social change. He first became engaged in addressing the serious challenges facing our planet during the Earth Summit in 1992. Five years later, he was elected as one of the chairs of the youth caucus at the UN Rio+5 conference. Previously he worked with Peace Child International in Africa and the Caribbean to promote development education, increase youth-led social accountability, and establish youth-led social enterprises.
