2019 marks Hattaya’s 11th anniversary with VSO. She joined VSO from a private company in 2008 after an inspirational conversation with a friend who worked for VSO at the time. She worked on a Thailand/Myanmar border programme for 6 years until VSO started its operations in Yangon in 2013. Her experience working with many VSO international and national volunteers inspired volunteering for development programmes in Thailand, which she has started in 2014 with an objective to support Thailand’s volunteering environment.
The programme has trained hundreds of development workers and practitioners on volunteer management systems and volunteering for development. Currently Hattaya is a Volunteering for Development – Global Leadership, Technical Lead for VSO and a guest lecturer on the topic of SDGs, Volunteering for Development, Volunteer Management System for Thammasat University.
